DNS / Pointing domains to the Frontend

This page describes the steps you need to take to have your Styla Frontend displayed on your production domain.

The below steps constitute a go-live of your Styla Frontend website. You do them only once you are ready to switch from your older Frontend to Styla. However, if you don’t have any shop on your live domain, you should go through these steps right at the beginning of the process. You would then test your Styla Frontend on your live domain, with an http base auth if needed.

When ready to point your production domain to Styla Frontend, do the following:

  1. Go through the steps listed at Connecting to your BigCommerce if not done yet

  2. In Styla Admin, update your url field in your DOMAIN CONFIGURATION to your production domain

  3. In Styla Editor go to Bases Manager enter Default Base and click Save & Re-render top-right to have all your pages re-rendered with the new canonical link

  4. In Styla Admin, go to the HOSTED DOMAINS tab, enter your domain in the input field and click the REQUEST button:

  5. A CDN for your domain to point to will be created on the Styla end. Click the (i) icon above and then copy the entry from the overlay that will show up:

  6. In your DNS web panel where you manage your domains, add the CNAME entries as specified in the above overlay. This will make your production domain point to your Styla Frontend (after propagation time which theoretically may take up to 24 hours but usually happens within a couple hours).
